<reviewbody>This is a GREAT recording. Thanks!
Love Kimock and his music, but...
I'm still not sold on this line-up.
I miss the interplay between Kimock and Mitch Stein.
The keyboard player is great but I feel the songs sound better with an extra guitar player.
I'll still support the band as Kimock is amazing.
Curious to know if others share my view or if I'm in the minority on this one.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Another beautiful recording and generous addition by Charlie Miller. The sound on this is phenomenal. Long Form 1 is fantastic - haven't made it through the whole show yet, but, man, does it sound great. 5 stars is just not enough for this.
Thanks for the stage recording Charlie and Steve. Hurry back to the Boston area, PLEASE!!

(edit) - i also agree with missing the two guitar interplay. i've mentioned it a couple of times too. the new band does sound great, but i miss Mitch.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>OK so I haven't heard even the slightest bit of this show. That being said, if it's a Steve Kimock/Charlie Miller matrix then it's a 5.

My 2 cents on the lineup issue:
Personally I feel that this Kimock line-up, with Reed Mathis on bass, Rodney Holmes on drums and Robert Walter on keys, has the best sound and energy of any SKB lineup yet. While I do enjoy the guitar interplay, I much prefer Steve as the "lone guitarist". And Walter's keys lend a more rich sound to the mix than another git does. But that's just me.

Now to DL.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I was at the show, and I was blown away. It was my first time seeing steve, and it was an incredible experience. Great atmosphere, great crowd, great everything. I almost cried when Steve started to play Cole's Law. Long Form was a great opener, and I declare that the It's Up To You to start the second set is the greatest song known to manking. DOWNLOAD NOW!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that during the show, Reed broke two strings. He broke his A string and then switched to a second bass. On the second bass he broke his E string on the second to last song. Steve went over to him and must have asked him do you still want to play one more. It looked like Reed then just shrugged it off and they played the last song with Reed on the 3 string bass.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>there are not words to describe the absolute synergy between all members of SKB this night. the first set manages to bring the listener in, almost like a lullaby, with deceptive sweetness and rolling, gentle notes. then, the second set proves to be where the band just cuts loose, paving the way with funky improv and new takes on familiar themes.

sometimes, SKB shows can be a bit tedious, or workmanlike. and then there are times where the band just HITS the zone... where you know from the opening notes that this is no ordinary experience.

prepare to be amazed...</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Does anyone have any info on these new songs(In Time, Vernal Equinox, and Adelita? Maybe they are not new and I just haven't noticed/heard them before.

As far as a review goes, this show continues the trend of spectacular performances that the current SKB lineup has been providing. Highlights: Vernal Equinox and It's Up to You. I give it a 5 for sound quality, and a 5 for performance because this band is too good to get anything lower.

I find it funny that so many people miss Moose. I definitely like him, but his departure from the group marked a new era for SKB. I feel that Reed Mathis and Robert Walter are the final pieces to the puzzle that Steve and Rodney have been trying to solve since Rodney joined. While replacing a second guitar w/ keys certainly gives them a different sound, Robert Walter more than fills the gap left by Moose. And thank god for Reed Mathis. SKB has been in need for a solid bassist ever since Vega left the group, and Reed has finally come to the rescue. I hope these guys stay together, because they are the best thing going in the jam world, and are raising the bar for the whole jam band scene.

Oh yeah and thanks once again to SKB for the tunes and Charlie Miller yet again for continually providing the crispest SBD recordings. Sorry that was so long.

<reviewbody>Alone, Steve Kimock and Rob Walters are two of my all time favorite musicians. Put them together and you have music too good to describe. (Not to mention that Reed M. is sick as hell, too) These guys are defining the ideal/perfect sound for me, and I really want to get the chance to see this lineup live.

I just saw the thursday show of Steve's three night run with New Monsoon in SF, which was pretty sweet. This is much more my style, but it was really awesome music, and I hope its posted soon.</reviewbody>

Listening to Robert Walter is such a joy with Kimock, i really like having the Organ/Keys in the mix. Cole's Law is the highlight of the show for me, absolutely beautiful. Rodney is always a rhythm machine and the addition of Reed Mathis is also great, i'll echo the comment that its nice to see a solid bassist in the band since bobby's departure.
