<reviewbody>This show is not well known, however that should change. This to me is the second true highlight of the year up to this point,2/19/73 being the first. Get this show!!!!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Agree with Dax King; this show gets short shrift and shouldn't. Excellent long and involved Dark Star; nearly as epic as 4/29/72 (my current favorite) and maybe even top 5 of the year? Flows into a somewhat herky-jerky yet very high energy Eyes. With so much competition out there from 72-74, it's no suprise that something gets overlooked. Download it before it gets taken off of here to permit you to get gouged by the Dead for a pay download.</reviewbody>
<reviewtitle>Yeah, this show deserves more attention</reviewtitle>

<reviewbody>Must admit, i tend to listen to DS first before I check out the rest of any show.
This one is off...the...hook!
Kreutzmann is a freaking genius! Jerry and Phil aren't bad either.
Now to listen to the rest of the show....</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>1973 is such a great year......This Dark Star is one of my favs. Jerry gets this quick little diddy jam going around the 5 min mark and it soars with energy. Many themes are explored and finally around the 16 min mark Jerry decides he'll sing. I always imagine the feeling of seeing Jerry sing "Dark Star Crashes" and I usually get goosebumps. The Eyes is a little sloppy, but the risks are worth it. Certainly worth the D/L (stream).</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>The Dark Star in this show comprises what may be the best recorded and lengthiest extended dual guitar interplay in the database. There is a long stretch where Bobby and Jerry are just friggling away on top of Bill and Phil's percolating rhythms ... Keith comes in towards the end of the jam and does just enough to spill a few drops of spiked coffee over the edge of the cup. Then a very brief Billy solo and an unambiguous restart, directly into the first verse of the song! Following that there is some extended ugliness of the "let's all take a bad trip together" variety at which the Dead excelled (I think this time it was intentional, at least) ...

Another review said the EYES was sloppy ... I don't think so.

And bedides it transitions into a CHINA DOLL that is among the most confidently played versions ever (includes Billy's high hat, Weirs juicy phased effects, and -- above all -- Garcia's one-in-a-trillion vocal chords ... god fxkin damn...

The China Cat explodes just like you'd expect, including a muffed up 'Downward Jam' (curse it not worth it, who came up that garbage in the first place?!?!) but it it's all redeemed when Jerry sings his headlight verses Rider. </reviewbody>
